Marianne Eterno

Marianne Eterno began her insurance career in 1987 at the former Golden Rule Insurance Company in Indianapolis, Ind. In 1992, she moved to the Chicago area to accept a position with Celtic Insurance Company where she was charged with developing a compliance and government relations department for their newly created senior products division.

In 1995, Marianne came to Guarantee Trust Life Insurance Company (GTL) as a compliance and government relations consultant and formally joined the company in 1997. As assistant vice president of government relations, she is responsible for representing GTL in both the state and federal arenas. Marianne also drives coalition development for GTL and is very active in the various industry trade associations to which GTL belongs. 

Marianne represents GTL at the American Council of Life Insurers, the Life Insurance Council, the National Alliance of Life Companies, and the Consumer Health Alliance. She chairs the Senior Issues committee for the Council for Affordable Health Insurance, and is a member of the Health and Human Services Task Force at the American Legislative Exchange Council. 

Marianne sits on the Executive committee for the Florida Insurance Council and chairs its PAC Board. She was elected to serve as vice chair and secretary of the Executive committee at the Council's annual meeting in June 2009. In addition, Marianne helped found and has served as president of the Florida Insurance Forum since 1999. 

Marianne currently serves on numerous committees at America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), as well as having chaired AHIP's Medigap and Supplemental Products committee from 2005 to 2008, and Student Insurance committee from 2005 to 2009. 

In 2008, Marianne was elected to the Board of Directors of RetireSafe, a 400,000 member grassroots advocacy organization for senior citizens. 

Marianne earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Rhetoric from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana.
